Powered by unique technologies — Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) and Bioluminescence Detection — the 3M™ Molecular Detection System is a fast, accurate, easy-to-use and affordable solution. In comparison, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, commonly used in DNA-based pathogen detection, uses Internal Amplification Control because of its own limitations and susceptibility to inhibition from sample matrices, which can lead to false negative results.

3M™ Molecular Detection System: validations and awards

  • AOAC® Perfomance Tested Method℠ (PTM)
    Confirms that the method has been tested in an independent laboratory. The method is reviewed yearly to ensure that there have been no changes to the method or quality assurance testing.
  • Ensures that the method will perform as stated in the instructions for use and that the method has been thoroughly tested in a collaborative study. Such collaboratively studied methods can then be included in Federal Code of Regulations, and federal agencies such as the FDA and USDA can add them to their code of approved methods, adding to the customer’s confidence in the product.
  • Methods carrying the NF mark have been thoroughly tested in a rigorous protocol that includes a method comparison and a collaborative study carried out by a certified expert laboratory. Also includes regular audits of manufacturing sites. NF certificate is valid for four years, then reevaluated and renewed, giving the customer confidence that the product’s performance remains consistent year after year.

    Step 1: Set it up

    Power up the system, launch the software and enter your data. Transfer enriched samples to the pre-filled lysis tubes.

    Heat and cool the lysis tubes. Add the sample lysate to the reagent tubes.

  • Step 3: Get Results

    Press start and load the instrument. Monitor real-time presumptive results as pathogen DNA is detected.
