  • Micron sized abrasive pyramids produce a high-gloss finish
  • Produces finer finishes than paper and film-backed abrasives

3M™ Trizact™ Hookit™ Film Disc 268XA uses proprietary microreplication technology where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids of abrasive mineral and then coated on a film backing. As these pyramids wear, fresh, sharp mineral is continually exposed to produce a consistent cut and a predictable, fine finish.

Use 3M™ Trizact™ Hookit™ Film Disc 268XA on a variety of solid surfaces, topcoats, and to allow most finish and process requirements. Our 268XA discs get results faster, last longer and produce a finer finish, compared to conventional abrasive products. 3M microreplication technology makes the discs last longer. Three-dimensional, pyramid structures are uniformly distributed over the entire surface to ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. The microreplication technology provides precise finish control and can reduce grade sequences so fewer process steps and abrasive products are needed. Aluminium oxide abrasive mineral is coated on the film backing of our discs. It’s tough and durable, with a high cut-rate and low heat retention. The mineral self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges when in use – unlike traditional abrasives, such as garnet that quickly wear down with use. It’s suitable for a wide variety of substrates in woodwork and metalwork, including ferrous alloys. Our discs are made with 3M™ Hookit™ attachment system. Hookit secures a disc in place and allows for quick mounting to and removal from a hook-and-loop backup disc pad* used on rotary or random orbital tools. Hookit allows the discs to be reused for the duration of their life. *Sold separately
