Scotch® Vinyl Electrical Tape 35 is a premium-grade, 7-mil thick polyvinyl chloride (PVC) color-coding tape. Outstanding electrical and mechanical properties make this tape excellent for use in phase identification, color coding of motor leads and piping systems.
Scotch® Vinyl Color Coding Electrical Tape 35 and the other products in this family are designed to address the daily challenges customers face in the industry. Through innovation and rigorous testing, 3M is committed to delivering high-performance products that help customers enhance application efficiency and effectiveness, featuring aggressive backings and adhesives designed to withstand challenging temperatures and environments where moisture may be present. For best application practices, apply in half-lapped layers with enough tension to create a uniform wrap. For most applications, this tension will reduce the tape width to approximately 5/8 of its original size. When taping pigtail splices, wrap the tape beyond the ends of the wires and then fold it back to provide a protective cushion against cut-through.
