3M™ 5776A-MT Series Cold Shrink Resin QS-III Inline Trifurcating Cable Splice Kit is designed for splicing 5/8 to 15 kV shielded power cables. The cold shrink design ensures a quick installation and cable size transitions. This armored or non-armored splice kit is perfect for use in cable trays, cable racks, junction boxes and cable hangers, as well as aerial and wet or dry locations. 3M™ 5776A-MT Series Cold Shrink Resin QS-III Inline Cable Splice Kit includes 3 metallic shield sleeves, 6 small and 2 large constant force springs, 2 cold shrink jacket tubes, 2 mastic tape 2229 and more. This cable splice kit uses constant force springs for connecting ground braid jumpers, splice bodies and tapes for moisture-seal applications. The splice body has a specially formulated silicone rubber construction to ensure optimal high- and low-temperature performance. This splice kit is suitable for use with solid dielectric cables such as XLP, XLPE, EPR and more. IEEE Approved.
The kits are designed to be used with 3M™ Scotchlok™ Connectors 10000 and 20000 Series or other UL listed inline compression connectors that fit within the dimension limits listed in the data sheet. Meets the requirements of IEEE-404. Kits include material necessary to make one 3/C splice. Connectors are not included and must be ordered separately. The completed splice is designed for use in cable trays, weather exposed or direct burial locations. The splice utilizes several technologies to accommodate the various functions of a 3/C shielded power cable: 3M™ Cold Shrink QS-III Splice Bodies, Scotch® Tapes for moisture sealing, Constant Force Springs for connecting ground braid jumpers and armorcast for replacing the cable armor and/or jacket. Note: When making a trifurcating splice, the 3M™ Cold Shrink MT-C or MT-E Trifurcating Accessory Kit must be used along with the splice kit. Note: Cable sizes shown below are for standard insulation thickness. Final determining factor is cable insulation O.D.
